Dry Blasting Metal (mainly Iron and Steel)
A data sheet on our metal cleaning services, a suitable summary for printing is available in pdf format, here
With compressors and dry blast pots - people fairly regularly ask us to clean metal parts! Dry blasting has the significant advantage that flash rusting is reduced - with the damp blast system this can happen within minutes (which is why we use the primers we do - all are moisture curing and flash rust tolerant)

A lot of Hydraulic Rams - that were the wrong colour!

A collection of metal and woodwork from a playground - cleaned, primed and top coated by us at our premises over Christmas 2006 - this was the pile of red bits - we also did some in yellow and blue!

Key Benefits
- Flexible, many surfaces and contaminants can be dealt with quickly and easily.
- Relatively cost effective, perhaps twice as expensive as pressure washing, but typically less than half the price of chemical stripping.
- Easily scalable, Greenleaf Contractors, the Ashrose Group, and indeed other contractors, can easily support each other in this technique, meaning that multiple machines can be brought to a site if required.
- Suitable surface profile generation for subsequent treatments, such as Zinga cold galvanising.
- longer timescales before flash rusting appears
- Dry - debris can be cleaned up relatively quickly and easily with brush and vacuum
- aggressive - rapid removal of material.
