Farrow System Spare Parts and Machines
Since the closure of Farrow System Ltd several people have approached us for spare parts, training – and help;
We were the first Farrow System Franchisee (and one of the last four or so as the franchise organisation collapsed!)
We have been using these machines for nearly 25 years, and much of this time I have been diagnosing problems over the ‘phone as they happen on site – and my employees ‘phone in asking for help; As a result of this I can often diagnose the fault and at least tell you where to start looking, whether the problem might be solved in-situ, work rounds, or whether it is a job stop type issue.
We can obviously offer advice on, and source, new machines and, with a bit of luck, even second hand machines. This can be a bare bones blast pot, blast pot and control panel, or indeed a full blown, trailer mounted machine with compressor. At a pinch we can even hire you a spare blast pot or entire machine, and have been known to pitch in and assist with completing a contract.

Farrow System Training
We offer training on using our machines, covering everything from setup, operation, and basic fault diagnosis, to job-specific training. Our standard course includes setting up, using, and cleaning the machine, and we provide a printed colour manual with advice on machine settings. The main goal is to familiarize you and your operatives with the machine’s parts, so if something goes wrong, we’re on the same page when diagnosing the fault.
Training can be conducted at our premises or yours. The advantage of on-site training is that we can work directly with your machine, avoiding the need to transport it. However, I can’t guarantee to fix major issues in the time before (or during) a training course, like a non-starting diesel compressor, so please try to ensure your equipment is functional beforehand (and warn me!)
It’s also important to discuss your requirements and business plans before training. For example, a customer once focused on white line removal during the lead up to his course (which is what his machine had been doing), but he actually wanted to use the machine to refurbish wooden window frames, requiring different abrasives altogether – the abrasive I took with me were very unsuitable! (He was also the customer who, when I had driven the entire length of the country ‘mentioned’ that his compressor wouldn’t start – and we spent a happy hour stripping the engine down – before I looked in the fuel tank and saw that it didn’t have any fuel!)
After a one-day course, you’ll have a basic understanding, but I recommend practicing for a few days before working for paying customers!
